1. Workshops

Latest Products Image

This workshop aims to provide a clear overview of the required steps and techniques to secure software systems. Furthermore, the workshop will carry on several practical examples by demonstrating how to build specialized labs to perform different types of penetration testing in different contexts using virtual environments and real testbeds.

2. Events

Under the supervision of the SEL lab, the CYS club will present a cybersecurity booth in the AICloud Expo 2022 to display the club as well as the lab achievements in the cybersecurity field. Specifically, the booth will present the IDS mobile application, cybersecurity awareness videos, research applications, and many other achievements. This booth will provide the participants who are interested in cybersecurity more information on pursuing working on this subject such as real-life job opportunities in Saudi Arabia, career options, competitions, and other information.

3. Competitions

As part of the cybersecurity awareness, the CYS club will regularly conduct challenges in the cybersecurity field for the university’s staff and students. Through these challenges, we will have the opportunity to offer different security tips that could help people to protect their machines and data and provide them with several pieces of advice and countermeasures to secure them from becoming victims to social engineering attacks. Additionally, some technical challenges will be specially designed to target our club members.

4. Projects

This project aims to develop an IDS mobile-based application. The core idea of integrating intrusion detection systems in developing mobile apps will be deeply presented to the participating students. As an output of the project, the developed mobile app will help users detect Malware apps before downloading them from the Google store using artificial intelligence-powered algorithms.

5. Awareness

A weekly tip on avoiding the recent security threats will be sent via email to the university students and staff. These tips aim to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity, ensuring that all users (students and staff) have the resources they need to be safer and more secure online. All poster designs and content were specially created to suit the Saudi community by club members. The content will be provided in both Arabic and English languages, aiming to increase cybersecurity awareness to all society segments.

Under the supervision of the SEL lab, the CYS club will conduct a “Cybersecurity Awareness” program for promoting online safety. This program aims to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity, ensuring that all users (students and staff) have the resources they need to be safer and more secure online. All posters’ designs and content will be specially created to suit the Saudi community.

As part of the cybersecurity awareness campaign, the CYS club will conduct an awareness talk. This talk aims to promote the awareness of security and to present the recent technologies in the cybersecurity field. An expert in the field will deliver the talk. Through this talk, the attendees will have a better understanding of the cybersecurity field and its importance.

As part of the community service, the CYS club will conduct a Cybersecurity Awareness Workshop for high school students. The aim of the Security Awareness workshop is to educate the school’s teachers and students on risk awareness, a positive attitude to security and privacy and becoming acquainted with relevant subjects. This workshop will consist of short interactive sessions and other e-learning methods and resources, such as presentations, videos, and online quizs.
