Saudi International AI and Cloud Tech Expo
May 22, 2022
SEL has participated in Saudi International AI and Cloud Tech Expo. Through the SEL booth in the expo, the lab members showcased a sample of the ongoing projects and the research outputs produced by the lab. Additionally, SEL members showed the lab's activities, including workshops, SEL Tips, cybersecurity competitions & challenges, and the awareness campaign. This was a great opportunity to advertise the services that the lab provides to different organizations.

SEL has participated in The First International Conference of Smart Systems (SMARTTECH 2020) by chairing the cybersecurity track and authoring a paper entitled DefOff: Defensive/Offensive System based on Hiding Technologies. SMARTTECH 2022 provides an excellent forum, which contributes new results in all areas of Artificial Intelligence, Internet-of-Things, Emerging Technologies, Unmanned Systems, Communication and Networking, and Cyber-Security in line with technological advances in the Kingdom under the umbrella of the Vision 2030.

Through this booth, people had a better understanding of SEL missions and services. In addition to the promotion of SEL, this booth allowed us to introduce the Cybersecurity Club to interested students.

As part of the community service, the Cybersecurity club conducted a Cybersecurity Awareness Workshop at “Rwad Alomara” high school. The aim of the Security Awareness workshop is to educate the school’s teachers and students on risk awareness, a positive attitude to security and privacy and becoming acquainted with relevant subjects. The workshops consist of short interactive session and other methods, such as presentation, video, and a digital quiz.

Dr Aljamea has a PhD in computer security. This talk aims to inspire many female students to work in the field of cybersecurity.
